Women of Faith weekend by Amanda

This past weekend will go down in the books as one I will cherish for a long time! I reunited with some Juneau and Nevada friends and made a few new friends who live in Oklahoma and Missouri. The unique bond between all of us (besides Christ living in us) is that we have all lived in Juneau for a season in our lives (some for several seasons but we won't call them by name). Vicki, Ann, nor Jill lived in Juneau while I lived there but after meeting and spending time with them I feel as if we were already friends.

Our "Nighttime Talks" were definitely learning experiences.

We had many opportunities to connect as friends. It was kind of like Ecclesiastes "A Time For ... A Time To ...". We had a time to shop, a time to eat eat, a time to play, a time to pray, a time to search our hearts in light of God's grace.

Why GOD Gave Us Friends
GOD knew that everyone needs
Companionship and cheer,
He knew that people need someone
Whose thoughts are always near.

He knew they need someone kind
To lend a helping hand.
Someone to gladly take the time
To care and understand.

GOD knew that we all need someone
To share each happy day,
To be a source of courage
When troubles come our way.

Someone to be true to us,
Whether near or far apart.
Someone whose love we'll always
Hold and treasure in our hearts.

That's Why GOD Gave Us Friends!

Amanda,
I am thankful that all of you were able to pursue friendship and Christ at the same time. I know Janet was blessed as well.

Kevin,
Amen! My wife came home tired but spiritually rejuvenated. I am so glad she was able to meet several folks from Juneau and make new friends too!

Yeah! Amanda! I am so excited you posted. And I am thrilled you had such a great weekend. It was a lot of fun watching Bruce act like he was taking care of the 4 kids. We all know what happened there...

Poor Bruce ... had to care for the kids all by himself. I hope you made it up to him when you got home with backrubs, long soaks in the tub, bringing him supper in his chair, and other things like that.

:)

Thanks for taking up for me Trey! It wasn't bad at all - I have some really sweet, good friends who helped take care of them. I choose to look at them as helping me and not as though they were protecting the kids! I am afraid to ask them the truth.
It sure is good to have Amanda back! I am not the same when she is gone. Things feel way out of place and not right. I am glad she got to go but I am even more excited she is back!

WHATEVER TREY! He didn't even have the kids while I was gone. He's pretty smooth at getting others to feel sorry for him.

He is a very good dad and husband!!
